Hungry children in line waiting for next meal

Our Core Values

Our core values are those characteristics that we at Freedom From Chains hold to as being essential to our ministry and every task we undertake. They shape how we use our resources to fulfill our mission so that God may be glorified in all we do. These values are:

Being Absorbed in Prayers

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7-6)

We seek our deepest delight in God and fully admit that we can do nothing apart from Jesus Christ (John 15:5). Our desire is that we obey the commands of God in everything we think, say and do. We know this to be an impossible task apart from the power given to us from the Holy Spirit, therefore, we will seek to always abide in the Spirit constantly, “[praying] at all times in the Spirit” (Ephesians. 6:18). We will always petition the Lord to teach us to be "...joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer" (Romans 12:2). We will also seek to imitate the walk of our first century brothers and sisters who, "... joined together constantly in prayer," (Acts 1:14; 2:24). Prayer is the foundation of all things and it is prayer that fuels our faith. Therefore, we value and desire to become addicted to prayer.

Devotion to Sound Biblical Preaching & Teaching

“I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word” (2 Timothy 4:1-2a).

"And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"(Romans 1015)

Jesus "commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead," (Acts 10:42). Therefore, we will make it our aim is to spread the teachings of Jesus Christ to every corner of the world, no matter how far and how difficult the road that must be travelled to get there. We must dare “not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ” (Acts 5:42) or else our bones will testify against us on the Day of Judgment that is to come.

Practice Daily Humility

“We are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ” (2 Corinthians 2:17).

God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6).

Our desire is that we become what we seek to preach and teach, else we will do so in vain. Therefore, we seek to build our character and organization's structure and policies so that we make give proof of our heart's desire to treasure God and Jesus Christ above all things. Do accomplish this goal, we must seek out humility by considering others more important than ourselves and in turn, serving them as their needs require. In times of disagreements will seek the truth before making judgments. When we have offended another we will be quick to confess our errors and sins, pursue reconciliation, and make necessary changes in our lives.

Sacrificial Giving

“You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39).

“You received without paying; give without pay” (Matthew 10:8).

As men and women who have received a gift beyond all measure and worth, the incomprehensibly radical grace from God in the forgiveness of all of our sins through the substitutionary atonement on the cross by Jesus Christ, we set out as ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:12) so that we may serve as the hands, feets, of Jesus Christ and speak the His words of love, truth, and life. We set before us a goal of becoming like minded as the Macedonians who, though afflicted and impoverished, “overflowed in a wealth of generosity” to bless others because of their satisfaction in God (2 Corinthians 8:1-2). And we believe that in a world that is chained and enslaved to the love of money, and the greed for self satisfaction, we must live a lifestyle that is built of radical generosity and a sacrificial heart to give to the world Jesus Christ, the most valuable treasure in the universe.

Understand That We are at War with Evil

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).

“And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.' 20 But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?' 21 So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God" (Luke 12:19-21).

When any nation goes to war, it is only wise that all its natural and human resources are focused on winning the war and obtaining the peace that was lost. Only a foolish people will wage a war without a laser light focus to bring the war to a quick and victorious end. Unfortunately, most of the world does not realize that humanity is at war with an enemy, whose objective is nothing short but our complete annihilation. This war is a million times more destructive than any war mankind can wage against themselves.

Realizing that we are being besieged on all sides by demonic forces, we seek and ask the Lord to allow us to focus our personal and organizational resources on the goal of bringing this war to its ultimate conclusion - victory for God's peoples. To accomplish this task, we believe that we do not waste our resources on personal worldly gain, but to direct the resources towards our war effort. Each person must make a personal decision as to how they will live their lives, how they will either spend or invest the resources that are given from above. We must ask ourselves if we are living a war-time lifestyle or a peace-time lifestyle. We at Freedom From Chains will not only seek a wartime approach in how we use of our resources but we will only use strategies that are effective in advancing the wok of God.

Bold Evagelism That is Biblically Centered

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).

We desire as many people as possible will come face to face with the One and Only True God and see their need of Him in their everyday lives by the sharing the teachings of Christ. Therefore our strategies and goals will be determined by what is most biblically effective in spreading the message of Christ and the supremacy of God in all things. Then we will seek to design support mechanisms to serve those strategies and with the grace and mercies of God, fulfill our goals.

A Global Vision

“They sang a new song, saying, ‘Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation" (Revelation 5:9).

We are under no illusion that our efforts either hinder or advance God's work. We also understand that is only by God's grave and mercy that we are able to partake of the greatest campaign in the history of all creation, the campaign to redeem the world from the darkness and depravity of sin. Therefore, we will lift up our hearts to God and our eyes to the Cross of Christ and look beyond our immediate desires and look toward the less reached places and peoples of the world.
